Wii Skins - A Good Point
Posted on December 17th, 2007 by Angela in Wii Modifications
One of our commentors (Ben) made a really good point about Wii skins being made available to those people who already bought a plain white Wii. We were on about the rumor lots of pretty colored Wii’s are heading to Japan in the coming months. It’s always annoying when they release new colors that you’d rather have (I bought the black DS even though I had a white one as I thought black was waaay cooler!).
We looked into the Wii skins situation and found a cool looking site that Wii owners might want to look into. The site is DecalGirl and it offers so many Wii skins it will make your head spin, including the cool crime scene Wii skin especially for those late night Manhunt play times.
Sadly we can’t give you a first hand review of how well the skins fit / look as we haven’t used the site. If there was a Battlestar Galactica skin, I’d get one and let you all know, but alas. In my experience anything involving sticking contact like substances to flat surfaces generally results in air bubbles, which cheaped the look of your equipment. Still if you’re feeling nimble fingered and think you can install them perfectly, $15 a piece is a lot cheaper than a new Wii.

I had one of these on my iPod nano and it did get a few bubbles in the front, however the back was perfect.
It’s all about skill. If you manage to make it perfect on the first try, then you’ve got a winner. But re-sticking it makes it cheap.

Pretty cool,
I got my skins from http://www.pimpmywii.com - no problem sticking them on since the material is resitant to air bubbles. Haven’t tried decalgirl yet - might get one for the 360!
