Wii Nintendo GameCubeWell just about! According to sales figures just out the Wii only has about 1.5  million more units before is surpasses the units of the GameCube sold over its lifespan. The lovely little cube sold around 21.7 million units in its six year  lifespan (give or take). The Wii has already sold around 20.2 million.

Nintendo are apparently making a massive 1.8 millions Wii units in a months period, so with those sorts of manufacturing figures, it’s fairly safe to say the Wii will surpass the GameCube figures within mere days / weeks, let’s face it, the Wii presently appears to be flying off shelves as quick as it’s hitting them.

The Nintendo GameCube was released in 2001 – 2002 dependent on region and since its release has sold approximately 13 million units in the Americas. The Wii on the other hand has presently sold around 9 million in the same region, but more than the GameCube in Japan and other regions.
