Wii injuries on the rise

Posted on January 23rd, 2008 by Angela in Weird Wii News

Wii InjuryAccording to a British newspaper Wii injuries are once more on the rise, what with the little machine selling out over the holiday period. Osteopaths are specifically warning middle aged parents to curb their playing times, since many are reporting neck, shoulder and elbow problems brought on by too much Wii Sports.

Apparently Wii Boxing and Wii Tennis are the two main culprits “We noticed we were getting a number of middle-aged parents coming in having played for far too long on the Nintendo Wii that they had bought their children.” states osteopath Michael Davies.

Some parents said they’d been playing the Wii for up to ten hours… well I don’t want to be the harbinger of obviousness here people, but even if an athlete played Wii Sports for ten hours straight, they’d probably be feeling a little sore in places.

On a brighter and far less ‘dim’ note, one of Martin Davies patients had reported their kid had lost over a stone in weight from playing the Wii. Assuming said child was overweight to begin with, that’s pretty cool. Oh a stone is equivalent to around 6.3 kilograms.
