Wow, here we are with an exclusive for Wii Centre as we talk to one of Animal Crossings busiest ladies–Gretchen Gruntch–and get all the fashion gossip Trinny and Sussanah style as she comes to us live from the red carpet of the First Annual Nintendo Game Fashion Awards.

Hi sweeties! Gretchen Gruntch here live blogging for Wii Centre from the 1st Annual Nintendo Game Fashionista Awards. I’ll be treading the red carpet will some of your favorites and calling them out on their fashion faux pas. That isn’t to say they all dress badly my dahlings, but some of them, my word, it’s like they just rolled over in their laundry hamper before stepping out of the door.

Okay dahlings let’s get to it shall we, so much fashion, so little time….

Princess Peach has just arrived and she’s looking delectable in her pink gossamer dress and above elbow white gloves. Didn’t her design people tell her you should never wear pink on the red carpet, clash clash clash! The Princess is also wearing blue pearl accoutrement and her golden crown, which looks like it needs a polish as its more brass than class!

Yoshi has just stepped off his Euro styled scooter, my my my with no pants, one really should have arrived in a limo and left the scooter at home, no one wants to see that sort of leg cocking on the carpet. As usual Yoshi has chosen to wear naught but boots. I believe looking at them they may be ‘Shimmy Boos’, the ghostly shoe designer famed for overpriced red carpet garb, but at least he’s gone with a designer name this year and left the Doc Martens at home.

It’s NiGHTs! Oh I do love this transgendered beings style, why it’s like a fashion train wreck. The style [for want of a better word] is so gloriously vibrant, prismatic and gaudy, like someone swallowed a rainbow and promptly vomited out the materials used. Tonight at the fashion awards NiGHT’s is sure to take out the award for biggest braggadocio, and speaking of Italian…..

I believe the car to have just pulled up is that of Mario… yes there it is, the plumbers boot and blue overalled leg as he leaps from the Hummer Limo. Really someone so short should have arrived in something lower to the ground, but he leapt from the vehicle with such a spring in his step no one seems to have noticed. Of course everyone noticed he’s wearing the same drudgery ridden clothes he always wears also, really someone teach this Italian guy some true Italian… Gucci, Valentino, Versace, Armani, Ferragamo, Dolci & Gabana, hell even some Gianfranco Ferre! It’s a travesty! Mamma Mia!!

Yes it’s Mario’s nemesis Bowser, arriving on a Harley, that actually suits him, all the noise. It seems Bowser has gone for the S&M stylings of some leather and spikes, nothing new here then. Perhaps this sort of attire would suit his private ‘lifestyle’, but there’s nowhere on the red carpet this can look good, why it’s worse than Bjork in a Birdo dress. Someone should have told Bowser this was the fashion awards and not the leather boys section of a Gay Mardi Gras parade.

Oh yes, now this is more like it, someone who has thought about their outfit before leaving the hills of Hyrule. Yes it’s handsome girly-boy Link. Now at least he’s gone for a change, opting to wear his fetching Four Swords tunic rather than that truly awful green, which, let’s face it would have played havoc with the red carpet (Red and Green Should NEVER be Seen unless it’s in the washing machine!). The blue tunic, though not a huge change from that drab (and dare I say smelly) green ensemble, is well thought out for this occasion.

And there we are, those are the main celebrity contingent to arrive at the awards and my views on just what they chose to wear. I’ll be back with more Nintendo character fashionista stylings when Wii Centre have me jet setting to the next celebrity filled event.
