Study shows Wii play better than walking

Dalhousie University students have taken it upon themselves to run a study to see if the Wii is more of a workout than walking and apparently it is. Sure we know all these so called ‘studies’ can also mean little (or perhaps that’s just the ones I took part in during my uni time), but there’s little doubt playing the Wii can work up a sweat.
According to the study, a half hour of Wii boxing used more energy than a half hour walk. There are some interesting quotes throughout the full report. It seems fairly clear most of the participants aren’t gamers, at least from the dialogue that’s what I gleaned. “Sport often is a matter of collegiality, of having your friends and being able to crack little jokes,” Ms. Welch said. “And it’s very hard to do that when it’s a goofy cartoon creature on the screen.” – err buddy, that’s why you play with friends and the sad thing is, this guy says he is a gamer himself.. .weird.
