Sega Master System Headed to Virtual Console
Posted on January 29th, 2008 by Mark in Wii Gaming
I’m very proud to begin this post by boasting that I actually owned (and still own, for that matter) a Sega Master System. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, the SMS was essentially a forerunner to the Sega Genesis. It was a full on 8 bits of gaming action, with frankly not a ton of awesome games. However, like any system, it did sport a few true gems.
Continuing in their recent spirit of cooperation, Sega and Nintendo are hooking up again — at least in Japan. News says the Sega Master System is taking its classic self to the Virtual Console, ready to feature its tremendous shooter title, Fantasy Zone, for an easy 5 dollars. Er … 500 points. Whatever. Japan is also reported to be in line for a Game Gear (Sega’s hand-held challenger to the Gameboy) addition to the Virtual Console, which is probably even more exciting. Hopefully Japan isn’t the only country getting in on this awesome Virtual Console action.
