So while Capcom doesn’t seem to think the Wii is important enough to merit a true new Resident Evil game, they apparently are super excited about giving the Wii as much old Resident Evil as possible. Before I start, allow me to say that I do love Umbrella Chronicles, and it was a nice little taste of action, but it was not a true Resident Evil game. It was a rail shooter. It did great things as a rail shooter, but it still isn’t RE:5. However, Resident Evil Zero WILL be coming to the Wii. That’s right, another Gamecube port. I’m starting to get tired of buying games I already own just so I can play them with motion sensitive controllers. According to reports the game plans to add no graphical additions, and little to no story/game additions — it is just a straight up port with a new control scheme.

Capcom, this was a good idea for RE4, because it showed gamers how great your franchise could be on the new Wii. And gamers ate it up. Which we hoped would show you that we’d be an excellent audience for some new action, but apparently just showed you that we’re a gullible audience willing to pay you again for a game you already gave us years ago.
