Okay so I’m in the capital city of my home state over the weekend and of course I have to go into the usual geek stores that I can only find there, the main one being a cool comic store that also always has Nintendo guff in stock. By Nintendo guff, I mean Nintendo toys, Nintendo keyrings, Nintendo bits and bobs, you know the sort of thing.

Before I realized what had happened I had parted with my cash and headed out the door, smug look on my face and in my mind saying “yeah baby! Mario, Luigi and Mushroom mints - though the price was pretty extortionate, these were sooo worth it”. Today however, in the cold light of day, I looked at my little plastic pals (pictured) and thought.. you are sooo coool, but really I didn’t ‘need’ you.

So who else has fallen into the Nintendo merchandising trap? Ever bought something for your Wii never to use it again? For it to sit on a shelf gathering dust? I’m sure there are more of you out there, be it those with action figures, so many Wiimote gun peripherals you could hold a gun show, or just a sucker for anything Mario. So come on out with it, what Nintendo guff have you bought?
