Japan Lands DS Download Channel

screen1.jpgVery recently, I had the opportunity to hit up a DS download station and sample two very excellent games — Contra 4 and Ninja Gaiden. Based on the small taste I got of each of them, I am 100% interested in purchasing them both. For very different reasons, they were very fun games. Which means, I suppose, that the DS download stations work just like they are supposed to — they make me want to buy things. However, it fails in one key area. Namely, I never use it. In point of fact, last weekend was the very first time I used one. And it’ll probably be quite awhile before I use one again, because I don’t tend to lug my DS lite with me when I walk into retail establishments (portable though it is).

Nintendo intends to solve this problem, though, and they are already on the roll in Japan. They launched the DS Download channel, which from the sounds of things will essentially allow users to have their very own in home DS Download station. It’ll provide demos, movies, screenshots, etc. If it works as it sounds like it does, I am 100% interested. Straight up DS news sent right to me highlighting the best products my handheld has to offer? Yes, please. C’mon Nintendo, bring this bad boy to America.
