Have Wii, Will Travel — Retractable Sensor Bar for the Wii

Posted on November 07th, 2007 by Mark in Wii Accessories

sensorbar.jpgHave you ever looked above (or below, depending on your fancy) your television and thought to yourself “man, I do love that sensor bar, but it is just so big“? Okay, neither have I. Let’s be honest, the sensor bar — like the Wii itself — really takes up comparatively little space. However, I have thought to myself “dang it, this cord is long. I wish my friends would buy their own Wiis so I could stop carrying mine to all their houses whenever we want to throw down on some Strikers: Charged.” Generally, I have to pack everything together into a bookbag to carry over, and that silly sensor bar is easily the most annoying piece to pack/unpack.

Apparently, somewhere, there are enough people who have uttered at least one of the above two sentiments.  Or at least, Talismoon is hoping there are, because they’ve launched a new product aimed right at this demographic. Meet the “Retractable Travel Sensor Bar” for the Nintendo Wii.  It has two little sensor blocks attached to one of those cheap, irritating, but totally functional retractor cables so you can pack up your sensor bar on two seconds notice. Honestly, while I want to mock this product — I can’t. Because as mentioned above, I’m in the probably 1 percent of the Wii owning population that would actually find it useful.
