So it’s a family member’s birthday this week and we decided to get her a Wii, but as we live in Australia, that’s not as easy as you might imagine. All the game stores we visited had signs up saying they had no Wii’s. Stranger still a lot of the stores also had no Xbox 360’s, so it seems the Wi isn’t the only console seeing shortage issues.

A rep for Nintendo Australia has confirmed that Wii units are selling faster than they can be shipped. The thing with this is, Australia is a huge country with a relatively small population, so it’s pretty impressive that despite large shipments of the Wii into Australia pre-Christmas, the little white machine is still selling as fast as it is.
