I unashamedly put my hand up and state that “Animal Crossing is one of my favorite games”–that goes for the GameCube and the DS versions. So where is the Wii version, initially rumored to be a Wii launch year title. This is a title myself and many friends have longed for and our excitement regarding its launch this past September was huge, but of course it didn’t appear and is still listed as a TBA title.

Love it or hate it Animal Crossing on the Wii is probably going to truly highlight what the Wii is capable of regarding WiiConnect24 and the use of other mobile devices. Rumor has it you may even be able to SMS or email people in friends towns and they’ll receive the messages in game. I’m not sure if that’s all hype, but it certainly sounds interesting.

The most recent rumor was that the Wii version of Animal Crossing would be more MMO than solitary fishing adventure. That’s cool too, but hurry up already!
