Smash Brothers … Well, Smashes

Posted in: Wii Gaming

kid-i.jpgStraight from the files of “gee, everybody saw this coming,” is the news that the fancy new Smash Brothers title is an enormous hit in Japan. Raise your hand if you are surprised by this information. Right, nobody. Nonetheless, it is probably worth noting just how popular the title is. According to sales information, Smash Brothers sold over one million units in 11 days, making it easily the quickest Wii title to hit that plateau. Wii Fit, a recently released hit in Japan, took nearly 7 weeks. That’s less than one quarter of the time for the Bros. Not bad at all, Smash Brothers. Seriously, though, almost any title within the Mario family is sure to be great, and the Smash line is among the absolutely most successful.  And Japan loves Mario even more than we here in America do. Or you over there in Europe.  Or even you in Australia, Angela.
